![]() ![]() (Sera from UnOrdinary, Rieta from Like Wind on a Dry Branch, Myst from Mystical, Duna from The Girl Downstairs, Aro from The Witch and the Bull, Shahrzad from The Wrath & the Dawn) I love a unique female lead with flaws and character development, any story with that and I’m sold. Overall I’ve dropped so, so many webtoons because female characters are written so similarly: they’re either incredibly beautiful, strong, with absolutely zero flaws whatsoever (unrealistic) OR they’re just a regular plain cutesie girl with medium length black/brown hair whose only personality trait is getting flustered. And the storytelling was really confusing with the flashbacks and weird dimensional shifts, I couldn’t follow along easily with the story. Phase: good art, poor writing and formatting. Unlovable Replacement: too cheesy, felt theatrical, didn’t like the love interest, didn’t love the art style.įreaking Romance: beautiful art, cool story, cool characters, loved the two love interests, but I found the MC to be unlikeable. I wish she had more depth than just being a beautiful woman who wanted to fight with the guys. Mei was also written to have zero flaws, which I think is important as a lead. ![]() I felt that Katsu treated Mei with more respect and delicacy, whereas Hayate was always crude and borderline harassing her. I did not see Mei ending up with Hayate-to me, the shift was too abrupt away from the initial pairing. My Dear Cold-Blooded King: I was SURE Mei would end up with Katsu, and I loved their pairing so much. I actually don’t love her paired with Tora, she just comes off as meh. Midnight Poppy Land: I really wanted to love this, because I love Tora and it has a great art style/premise, but once again Poppy ended up being an underwhelming, bland female lead. I hate Rose’s character, I just find her cringey. Websites where you can read & publish your own webtoons.Īge matters: started off strong but just got soooooo ridiculous. (This is especially true with Comico & Naver/Line) Some webtoons have animations and music that play during some chapters. Printed on long, vertical strips to make it easier to read on a phone or computer.Įspecially in Asia, they are in color instead of black and white since they are not physically printed. There are 3 main things that make webtoons different from traditional print and digital comics: Webtoons are a digital comic format that originated in Korea and has spread outside of the country. Feel free to discuss webtoon series and chapters as well as collaborate with other artists and writers to make your own webtoon. The reddit dedicated to all things webtoons.
